About the Role

Alongside your hairdressing role, your other responsibilities include welcoming our clients, acting as a key holder to the salon, helping to promote the salon through social media, keeping the salon clean and tidy before opening and closing, and monitoring the Apprentices, Salon Assistants, and stock.

It’s really important that all of our customers leave our salon feeling satisfied with our services, and happy with their new looks!

About Aura Hair Design

Aura Hair Design is based in the centre of Romsey, and has a really nice local community feel, so you’ll  get to know the regular clients in no time! Our salon is modern and recently decorated, and we’re always looking for new ideas on how to style the window displays and make the salon look as welcoming as possible so if you’ve got a good eye for detail and like getting creative, you’ll be perfect for this role.

We try and be as active on social media as possible, so if you’re good with a camera – even better! Our online presence is really important to us and we have a small marketing team who supports us with regular posting. Take a look at our Facebook and Instagram pages to get an idea of who we are!

This is a great opportunity for you to get involved with lots of different tasks so you’ll always be busy, and your time and effort will always be appreciated by your team and the management at Aura Hair Design.
 

Main duties

  • Providing outstanding customer service in order to build, maintain and grow a loyal clientele.

  • Assisting on the reception desk by answering calls, booking appointments, taking payments and cashing up.

  • Contacting clients via text and telephone to remind them of appointments or to change pre-existing appointments.

  • Maintaining a safe, healthy and clean working environment.

  • Being aware of and complying with Health and Safety regulations and GDPR.

  • Giving bespoke consultations to every client’s needs - from colour and cutting services, to various hair treatments and products.

  • Upselling and promoting products to clients in order to achieve both salon targets and personal targets.

  • Maintaining up to date knowledge on all salon products and how to use them.

  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of industry trends.

  • Cutting hair for men, women and children using both basic and advanced techniques.

  • Applying a wide range of hair colouring techniques, such as highlights, ombre and balayage.

  • Creating hairstyles for both formal events and everyday looks, including braids, ponytails and buns.

  • Using resources and products effectively, whilst minimising waste.

  • Working well within your team.

  • Helping with the apprentices training when required.
     

 

Formal education and training requirements for Senior Stylist roles

  • NVQ Level 2 qualified

  • NVQ Level 3

  • Hairdressing – minimum 4 years experiences

Additional information

You may be asked in advance to work additional hours, or occasional Bank Holidays if required, but we will always pay you for your time. For example, on Thursdays the salon has a late-night opening until 7:00pm but this may change in the future.

Holiday
